E2 Solar Named 2026 Top Solar Contractor (and Doubles Installed kW Over Previous Year!)
July 24, 2026
For the 11th consecutive year, E2 Solar has made Solar Power World’s Top Contractors List. The 2026 list, unveiled this week, is the 15th anniversary edition of the solar industry’s most recognized annual listing of solar and energy storage installation companies in the United States. Companies on the Top Solar Contractors List are grouped and listed by specific service, market, and states by 2025 installed capacity (in kWDC).
Top Solar Contractor Recognition a Win for E2 and for Oregon
E2 Solar is currently ranked at No. 321 in the nation, having installed 1.4752 MW of solar power in 2025. (This is twice the number of kilowatts we installed over the previous year!) E2 is the only Central-Oregon-based installer on the 2026 list, making this is a win for clean energy in our region. And we couldn’t have achieved this incredible feat without our customers who trust us to power their homes and businesses.
We’re honored to be recognized alongside other leaders in the renewable energy industry who have overcome recent policy- and supply-related hurdles. Despite these challenges, 2026 is already proving to be a milestone year. The U.S. recently surpassed six million individual solar installations, with solar regularly ranking as the most-installed source of new electricity in the country. And our solar market shows no signs of slowing down.
In this year’s Top Solar Contractors List, it’s especially apparent that solar professionals are veteran members of the energy industry. This experience is reflected with over 72 percent of listees having at least 10 years’ experience in solar — and 58 percent have more than 15 years’ experience in solar, storage and energy construction.
E2 Solar has installed residential and commercial solar in Central Oregon for 21 years. A few of our recent commercial projects include Deschutes County Fairgrounds, Buckingham Elementary School, and Jefferson County Fire and EMS.
“Well-run companies are those that can adapt to a changing industry,” said Billy Ludt, managing editor of Solar Power World. “We believe the 2026 Top Solar Contractors List features the strongest names in solar development, construction and installation.”
Fast-Growing States Like Oregon Viable for Rooftop Solar
While the top five states for installations in 2026 matched last year (California, Illinois, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania), states with smaller (but growing) populations also remain viable for rooftop solar.
In Central Oregon, where the population growth is driving a demand for electricity and major utilities continue to offer net metering, residential and commercial solar prove to be a beneficial investment for people looking to 1) reduce their dependence on outside energy sources and 2) get relief from rising utility costs.
Local Longevity Despite an Industry in Flux
In the 20+ years E2 Solar has been in business as a rooftop solar installer in Central Oregon, we’ve seen a lot of changes both in the solar industry and in our region — and we have continued to adjust. Challenges in the solar energy space are nothing new, but The 2026 Top Contractors List is evidence that these can be overcome by smart business decisions and the consistent support of our communities.
We believe our track record says it all, because we plan to continue serving Central Oregon long into the future.
